National Manufacturing Institute Scotland

The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) is driving the future of manufacturing through innovation. We’re accelerating productivity to grow our economy, develop a vibrant workforce, and create happier, healthier, greener communities.

The Consortium Of UK University Manufacturing And Engineering Heads (COMEH)

COMEH is an independent body established in 1978. Its main aim is to promote manufacturing engineering education, training, and research. The Consortium maintains a close liaison with government bodies concerned with the training and continuing development of professional engineers while responding to the appropriate consultative and discussion of documents and other initiatives. COMEH is represented on the Engineering Professor’s Council (EPC) and it organizes and supports manufacturing engineering education research conferences and symposia.

Fast-Smart

FAST and Nano-Enabled SMART Materials, Structures and Syatems for Energy Harvesting Project is supported by the European Commission under the HORIZON2020 Framework Programme. The project’s overall concept is centred on the scaling up of novel, mass-production nano-manufacturing techniques invented by FAST-SMART partners for synthesis of nano-structured smart materials and component manufacturing for energy harvesting applications to significantly improve the material quality and structural reliability (50%-100% improvement) and reduce overall materials and processing costs (by 30%) through shortening the process chains and improving material processing efficiency, being focused on less and free rare-element dependence materials (such as lead-free piezoelectric and Hf-free half-Heusler thermoelectric materials) as well as on new energy harvester designs considering environmental strategy, thus to bring about positive, environment-related impacts to Europe (greenhouse gas emission down by 50%, waste reduction by 50%), increased EU’s market share worthy hundreds million Euros initially, and to promote wide implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) and Digital Single Market (DSM) in Europe, due to introduction of the new energy harvesting products, design and manufacturing services created through the FAST-SMART’s partnership.

EDP Sciences

EDP Sciences was established in 1920 by a prestigious academic community of French learned societies seeking to inspire, innovate and inform others by sharing their knowledge. Members of this community included eminent scientists like Marie Curie, Paul Langevin and Louis de Broglie. Since November 2019, EDP Sciences is owned by Science Press which is itself majority-owned by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). CAS is a prestigious learned society and the world’s largest research organisation. EDP Sciences has always been, and continues to be, the publishing partner of scientific communities throughout the world.

China Society for Technology of Plasticity

China Society for Technology of Plasticity (CMES) was found in May, 1963 by China Association for Science and Technology and China Society of Mechanical Engineering. CMES focuses on the academic exchanges, development & transformation of plastic processing technology, technical consultation, technical training, editing and reviewing professional technical literature, scientific and technical knowledge dissemination, hournal and book publication, etc.
